Qur'an and Science The topic
of today is Qur'an and Science. In this topic I am going to explain you that, "do the Qur'an talks about science".This is right that Qur'an talks about science. I'm going to give you reference of the verse of the Qur'an and explain you that reference which talks about science. This post will be too long so, It could be that this post will be devided into 2-4 parts. So let's start...

                Qur'an and Science 

Friends this is Mohammed Arman and you are reading this on HistInTwist. So, let's see our first reference.

                1. Shape of  Earth.

When all the human beings was telling that the Earth is not spherical it is flat. Then a person named as " Francis Derrick" proceed that the Earth is not flat it is spherical. Then science became more advanced and said the world that it is neither flat nor spherical but it is geo-spherical. Geo-spherical is the exact shape of the Earth. When we read Qur'an in surah An-Naazi'aat ( chapter no. 79, Verse no. 30) that "وَالْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَاهَا (Waalarda baAAda thalika dahaha). The direct meaning of this verse is "and then We(Allah) extended the Earth". But when we go to the deep, we comes to know that the word "dahaha" used in this verse has been derived from the word "duhiya" which means the "egg of ostrich". When we see the egg of an ostrich we see that it is in the shape of geo-spherical means 'it is like sphere but has been pushed a little from both poles'. When we see our Earth we find that it is neither flat nor spherical but geo-spherical. So,  this verse of the Qur'an proves that the Earth is in the shape of geo-spherical. We know this thing for 50-100 or may be 200 years ago but Allah mention this 1400 years ago.

           2. Creation of the Universe

 Big-Bang theory is an irrefutable proof for a scientist for the creation of the universe. There may be some people with the different opinion. But today Big-Bang theory is the reality that how was universe came into existence. This theory was purposed about 40-45 years ago. But when we read Qur'an in surah Al-Anbiyaa (Chapter no- 21, Verse no-30) that "

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ"

(Awalam yara allatheena kafaroo anna alssamawati waalarda kanata ratqan fafataqnahuma wajaAAalna mina almai kulla shayin hayyin afala yuminoona) and its meaning is "Have not those who disbelievers know that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We(Allah) parted them. And We have made from water every living things. Will they not then believes?". Here it is clearly mention that the earth and the heavens were joined together. Qur'an mention this about 1400 years ago. Who could have mention this answer in comment. Let's come to the next one....

                       3. Embryology

In Qur'an surah Al-Alaq ( chapter no- 96, Verse no- 1,2) Allah says "1. اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ (Iqra biismi rabbika allathee khalaqa)

2. خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ (Khalaqa alinsana min AAalaqin) and its meaning is "1. Read! In the name of Allah, who has created (all that existence). 2. Has(Allah) created man from a clot(congealed blood).". At the very first many people translated 'Alaq' as ' congealed blood'. Then we see there are four meanings of 'Alaq'.
1) Congealed blood, 
2) Clinging,
3) Leech like substance,
4) Blood sucker.
And Qur'an mention in surah Al-Nahl ( chapter - 16, verse - 43) Go to those who is scholar of that field , if he is non-muslim doesn't matter. Then some of the Arabs goes to 'Professor KeysMour' with the translation of these verses, because he was number one in the field of embryology in the world at that time.  Professor KeysMour was the head of the department in anatomy at the University Of Toronto about 35 years ago. Many verse of the Qur'an took in front of him and he told " maximum thing that has been written in qur'an about embryology if 100% correct. But one thing that these verses "1. Read! In the name of Allah, who has created (all that existence). 2. Has(Allah) created man from a clot(congealed blood)", Professor KeysMour  said I don't know that these verse are correct or not. Then Professor KeysMour went into lab and with the help of powerful microscope he compared the photography of leech with with the clot, and he shocked to see that these are same.

When people become to know three reality that the meaning is not "congealed blood" then they said the Qur'an is wrong. Then the people become to know that the meaning of that verse was not ' congealed blood' , the meaning was leech like substance. After more research science cleared that when babies are in the mother's womb in first 2-3 week they looks like a congealed blood. That means congealed blood is also correct. After more research we know that when babies are in the the mother's womb they clings to the uterine wall. Clinging is also correct. Fourth we know that then babies are in the mother's womb they receive blood through mother like a blood sucker. Know we are able to know with prove all the meanings of the "Alaq".
